A new and original music festival with a RETRO twist is coming to Milton Keynes this summer.

The mid Summer Fayre is a two day music festival taking place on June 12/13 and will create a fresh new and eventful day out for those who enjoy festivals, theatre, circus and funfairs!

The event will create a traditional feel with Victorian fun fair rides, children’s circus, and magic theatre. There will be a host of interesting entertainments with 3 music stages including the Hootin Tootin Rock 'n' Roll circus, the Blues Grass stage and the Folk stages, all with their own friendly style, real ale bars.

Other attractions will include the wall of fear motor cycle stunt, a traditional part of travelling funfairs back in the golden ages.

If that’s not enough to wet the appetite of the attending public the traditional feel continues with a Punch and Judy show, hoopla style fair attractions, fantastic food bars and all the trimmings you could normally expect at a country fair.

The event will be a semi free to attend show with all of the children’s activities and presentations being free to visitors. Entrance to the music arena will carry a nominal charge of £8.50 for an adult ticket.

Expected attendance is 18-20,000 visitors per day.

For those of you who used to trade with us at the highly successful National Adventure Sports Festival at Shepton Mallet, this event is being organised and promoted by the same people behind that.

The event is being supported by a comprehensive marketing campaign, which includes two months’ worth of advertising in both Mojo and Shindig music magazines.

In addition there is planned radio advertising on Heart FM, four weeks of regional press coverage covering Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, 250,000 flyers and 2000 posters distributed regionally, as well as the usual PR in all the local papers, magazines, what’s on guides and local radio stations.

Plans are already underway to tour this festival in 2011 around the south, midlands, home counties, and south west of England, with many of the venues already being booked. This is an event with longevity, so those traders who are on board in the beginning will be given priority at later stages.
