Case Study | Brighton Pride

Since 2012 Wilde Ones has managed all production of Brighton Pride on Preston Park.

The last seven years have seen many changes, and as the event grows so do the production values at the UK's biggest and most renowned Pride event.

Wilde Ones feel a major connection with such a worthwhile event and are proud to be involved in the festival's development.

2018 saw a larger site size, an extra show day and a couple internationally renowned icons - Britney Spears and Nile Rodgers.

2019 was a continuation in scale and profile of the event - with Kylie and Grace Jones topping the strongest line up to date.

The popularity and calibre of the headline acts means Wilde Ones must ensure that every detail of the planning process is scrutinised for sell-out shows.

In light of the increased crowds, production requirement and event site footprint the Brighton Pride in the Park weekend has become our biggest and most rewarding project.

A plan is only as strong as the team delivering it. Fortunately Wilde Ones is blessed with some truly exceptional event professionals.

The large event site - squeezing in 9 performance areas and bars, 30+ caterers along with markets and sponsor zones - needed a team that works like clockwork.

Detailed advance communication paired with great spirit and coordination on site gave the framework for the best Pride to date.

The plan was delivered to an incredibly high standard, surpassing the heights of 2018 and setting a new benchmark for future years.

A top job from a top team!

Knowledge is Power

Planning meetings are long, arduous affairs but working with specialists who understand the event - and our attention to detail - help reduce the stress on site.

The Powerline have added stability to a crucial part of the production operation since 2015. The team is responsive and knowledgeable and their equipment is rugged - with extras always on the wagon.

Picking the right suppliers and trusting them with the plan is crucial to our site management culture.

With a technicolour event on our hands, Wilde Ones sought new ways to put Pride into every element of the production.

With increased media attention and additional VIP viewing area required, Wilde Ones had to come up with an on-brand solution.

Rainbow roofed ‘box seat booths’ for Kylie-crazed VIPs gave the perfect platform to watch the show.

One of Brighton Pride's major stages is the Dance Tent which has hosted DJs from Fatboy Slim to DJ Fresh to David Morales.

Tents present different propositions to the lighting designer and created some head-scratching moments in planning meetings.

Supporting our specialists on site is a major motivator and making sure that each team has what it needs is crucial for the show’s success.
