Case Study | A350 Club Suite Launch

British Airways were looking for an innovative way to showcase their new Club Class seat on the new A350-1000 planes soon to land at Heathrow.

Working with Eleven Twenty Seven and Shift the plan was devised for an immersive AV show beyond the usual LED wall and photoshoot.

After the initial site visit and seeing the proposed space, we knew that we had to pull out all the stops.

Whilst developing the brief with the British Airways team it became clear that this would be no usual event - this was a once in a decade opportunity for the client.

The concept - a musical 360° laser projection devised by laser specialist Pilot Technologies - created a spellbinding show worthy of BA’s ambitions for the event.

Using real-time projection laser mapping technology, the design elements of the A350 were brought to life in a bespoke black-out structure.

With the A350 landing at a strictly scheduled arrival time, the plan had to be carefully crafted.

Strict security restrictions and rigorous protocols at Heathrow meant every supplier had to be checked over and given the clearest instructions to deliver the plan.

Due to the team’s outstanding organisational approach to the event plan and the diligence of Health & Safety specialist Alphacello, our suppliers came and went as easily as a typical event site.

The event space itself needed to cater for the British Airways PR team, the Press and the all-important BA staff to see the new arrival to BA’s fleet.

The journey of the guests was meticulously planned with the client, each step of the way worked on in detail and executed smoothly come the event day.

The reception area and presentation space were in keeping with the aesthetics of the event space and also to the standards expected by such a renowned British institution.
